LETTER: Dylan Kruger Calls for Clear Healthcare Commitments for Delta
Dear David Eby, Lorne Doerkson, and Emily Lowan.
After this week’s reckless decision to call a provincial election, I am writing on behalf of the residents of Delta to ask your party to provide clear commitments on two critical healthcare priorities for our community.
First, the Beedie Long-Term Care Centre. Delta seniors and their families have waited long enough for this important 200-bed facility to become a reality. Fraser Health has identified the project as a planned replacement for Mountain View Manor, and work is underway at the Delta Hospital campus to support future projects including the new long-term care centre.
Second, North Delta needs an Urgent and Primary Care Centre. A 2026 City of Delta assessment confirmed significant gaps in access to primary care, with the greatest pressures identified in North Delta. The City has called for increased capacity and continued advocacy for urgent and primary care services.
These are not partisan issues. They are issues that affect seniors, families and residents across Delta.
I am therefore asking your party and local candidates to clearly state:
1. Will you commit to completing the Beedie Long-Term Care Centre, and what timeline will you provide?
2. Will you commit to establishing an Urgent and Primary Care Centre in North Delta, and what timeline will you provide?
Delta residents deserve clear answers and a government that will deliver the healthcare infrastructure our growing community needs.
I look forward to your response and to sharing your commitments with the residents of Delta.
Sincerely,
Dylan Kruger
Mayoral Candidate
